Legal Issues and Challenges Facing Girls

The Southwest Women’s Law Center invites members of the legal community and educators to their Lunch and Learn Mini Series entitled Legal Issues and Challenges Facing Girls in Middle and High School (1.0 G).
The CLE will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Southwest Women’s Law Center, 1410 Coal Avenue, SW in Albuquerque.

Check-in and a light lunch will begin at 11:30am.
The CLE presentation will begin promptly at 12:00.

The presentation will examine how lawyers can best collaborate with educators in middle and high schools to ensure that pregnant and parenting teens have equal access to education and graduation pursuant to Title IX.

Legal Issues Facing Women Seeking Healthcare

The Southwest Women’s Law Center invites the legal community to attend its Lunch and Learn Mini Series entitled Legal Issues Facing Women Seeking Healthcare on Thursday, June 9 from 11:30am to 1:00 pm at the Southwest Women’s Law Center located at 1410 Coal Avenue, SW in Albuquerque (1.0G).

Registration and a light lunch will begin at 11:30 am.
The CLE presentation will begin promptly at 12:00.

The course provides an opportunity for lawyers and educators to understand the legal issues and challenges facing women and girls who are seeking healthcare. This presentation will provide an overview of statewide cuts to Medicaid services and highlight the independent challenges that women and girls who reside the rural New Mexico face when trying to access health services. We will engage attorneys in understanding their role in ensuring that all women have equal access to healthcare
